Teach, Mentor, Support

Industry support is crucial for the continued success of the Wisconsin ProStart program.  Be part of building the next generation of hospitality industry employees.

  • Hire ProStart students and graduates in your business
  • Sponsor a class by hosting a guest lecture, classroom demo or field trip
  • Participate as a judge for competitions
  • Donate to Wisconsin’s ProStart program
  • Fund ProStart scholarships

“ProStart… puts the ‘spark’ or ‘fire’ or ‘drive’ into a student’s attitude and work ethic. It helps them to rise and achieve to their fullest potential.”

Karen Sullivan, Educator at
Sheboygan North High School

“Students get an idea of what this career will entail for them. We get to work with business people of the area. It’s just awesome to teach kids who are ready to just jump in, learn new things and take it with them for real life.”

Laura Cronan, Educator at Wautoma High School

Mentor
ProStart mentors are industry professionals directly involved with training the next generation of employees.  Essentially, building the future of the hospitality industry.

ProStart Mentors:

  • Provide an enthusiastic workforce with real-world experience
  • Enhance supervisory skills while giving interns insight and feedback
  • Help the interns to complete the Workplace Competency Checklist
  • Compensate interns at a competitive wage while observing state and local labor regulations
  • Have access to a qualified, interested pool of employees
  • Increase community involvement and create positive public relations – mentors often receive recognition with local media outlets

“I’ve learned a lot from ProStart, like how
to take initiative in the workplace.”

Brian Shaw, Student at Fox Vally Technical
College
ProStart Graduate from Sheboygan
North High School
