The National ProStart® Certificate of Achievement is awarded to students who have successfully completed and met all of the requirements for the ProStart® program.
Classroom Requirements
Take Year 1 and Year 2 courses in the ProStart® curriculum
Maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.0 overall
Pass the national exams for both Year 1 and Year 2
Workplace Requirements
Work 400 hours in a foodservice job or industry establishment
Up to 200 hours can be in a school restaurant
A minimum of 200 hours must be in a foodservice business outside of the school environment
Document hours by keeping pay stubs or obtain letters from employers
