  Ace of Cakes at the Expo
Duff Goldman, celebrity chef and host of the Food Network’s Ace of Cakes and Sugar High, presented a captivating keynote address to a standing-room only crowd. Afterwards, Chef Duff headed to the exhibit hall to sign copies of his book and check out the entries for the Art of the Cake Competition.

  High-Profile Culinary Demos
The popular Culinary Theater brought successful Wisconsin chefs, including the 2012 James Beard winner of Best Chef Midwest, to highlight good food and simple techniques. Visit the event page to download some of the recipes (PDFs) from the live demos.

 

Eye-catching Inspiration
Catering-focused activity is a sight to behold at the Expo. The Tabletop Design Competition features several stunning displays for 8-top tables. Awards are presented for Most Innovative, Best Use of a Theme, Most Viable and People’s Choice.

Celebrating Artful Cakes
Top bakery pros and budding pastry artists battle for business credentials in the Art of the Cake Competition. The only competition of its kind around the state, the beautiful cakes are a stunning reminder of the talent housed in Wisconsin.

Monday’s College Competitions and Tuesday’s ProStart® Invitational for high school students bring the industry’s next wave of top talent to the show.

Restaurant Industry Leaders Honored
On Tuesday night of the show, the Wisconsin Restaurant Association’s top awards are revealed at the Awards Dinner held in downtown Milwaukee.

This year, Craig and Lea Culver of Culver's Restaurants received the state's highest honor, the Restaurateur of the Year Award. See the full list of honorees.


 

Show Floor Successes
Year after year, our Expo remains strong – 2012 saw a 6% increase in registered attendance and an 11% increase in exhibiting companies!

2012 brought hundreds of supplier companies from 28 states and Canada to shop and compare. With more food and beverage companies on the show floor, attendees sampled thousands of products and saw plenty of ideas to renew and refresh business for the year.
