WRA Lobby Day 2009
Take Action

Make a difference in local, state and national politics just by getting involved. The fate of your industry –and your business– depends on you.

Contact Lawmakers on Key Issues
Politicians want to address the needs of the people they represent. With every contact you make with an elected representative, we all become more effective in reaching our goals. To get in touch with lawmakers:

WRA Email Your Legislator

Not sure how to communicate and lobby? Check out WRA’s tips for contacting legislators.

"It’s a lot easier than people think.  They are not there to be intimidating.  They want to hear what we have to say.”

- Amy Shaffer, Shaffer Park Resort Motel and Supper Club in Crivitz

Communicate Your Needs
WRA learns what’s important through our members. Contact us about issues affecting your business so we can fight on your behalf or, if your elected official is not standing for your views, help elect a representative that better matches your stand on the issues.

Support Political Fundraisers
WRA’s action at the state Capitol protects and improves small business, local communities and the Wisconsin economy. Align with a group that advocates for your industry and, more importantly, your business.

Donations to WRA programs reinforces the strength of the entire industry. Financial support for the Wisconsin Restaurant Advocacy Fund (RAF) and Political Action Committee (PAC) is always appreciated.

Fundraisers for RAF and PAC:

Get Others Involved
Invite others to join you when you meet with legislators, volunteer for election efforts or attend political fundraisers. Encourage them to contact their lawmakers on the issues. Your interest is contagious.

Together, we can make a difference.

"WRA keeps us informed of political activity and advocates in our best interest so we can focus the majority of our time on running our business."

- Trey Hester, Rocky Rococo of Oconomowoc

WRA representation helps you make your opinions known and carry weight. WRA provides legislative notices as they’re happening, access to government and regulatory agencies and protection for your business as a whole.
Make an impact in government.
