The Wisconsin Restaurant Association and its over 7,000 members are committed
to food safety. We believe that everyone in our industry, no matter what
their position, is a key player in keeping the food we serve safe.
Each September, restaurant and food service professionals across the
country demonstrate their commitment to food safety by spreading the message
throughout their establishments and communities.
Created by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation's
International Food Safety Council, this annual food safety campaign strives
to: build awareness of the restaurant and foodservice industry's commitment
to serving safe food, heighten awareness about the importance of food
safety education and encourage additional food safety training for all
industry employees.
"Americans are aware of food safety now more than ever before,"
says Susan Quam, Senior Director of the WRA Education Foundation, "and,
through National Food Safety Education Month, we have the opportunity
to highlight what we are doing in the restaurant and foodservice industry
to educate our employees and customers on proper food safety procedures."
Founded in 1987, the WRA Education Foundation is one
of the largest state restaurant association foundations in the U.S. It
strives to create a promising future for the foodservice industry by raising
awareness of foodservice as a professional career path, providing ongoing
training and education for foodservice professionals and serving as a
state leader on food safety and sanitation.
